Breaking Out was Just the Beginning…
No, I’m not talking about puberty!
Prison Break: The Classified FBI Files was officially released this week. It’s the latest in a collection of official episode guides I’ve been lucky enough to write for some of my favorite TV shows. I mean, really, I get to watch television for a living. My teachers would be so proud!
This episode guide is a little different as it’s written entirely in the world of the show. The book follows the break (and ensuing manhunt) from inside the investigation with the official FBI files, prison schematics taken from Michael’s computer, and a minute-by-minute breakdown of the escape. There’s even original content provided by folks who work on the show, including “interviews” with the characters that our heroes (and villains) encounter along the way.
For those of you who have already picked up the book … thanks! You may have noticed that when you get to the last page, it tells you that the story continues. Well, that certainly is true. Since the book had to be turned in before the season was done, some of the book is available online for the completionist in all of us. You can get the rest of the story here.
And speaking of episode guides…
Announcing… The latest project I’ve been working on is for another show that I love (that also happens to be on Fox): Bones
From the book’s official description…
“Bones is the thrilling investigative drama inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist and best-selling novelist Kathy Reichs.
Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a highly skilled forensic anthropologist, often teamed with Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), piecing together the clues left behind in murder victims’ bones. Booth and Brennan solve horrific crimes while keeping viewers gripped by their ongoing love/hate relationship.”
This one will be a more traditional behind the scenes episode guide containing interviews with the cast and crew. Working on the book gave me a second chance to talk to David Boreanaz as I got to interview him for the official Angel episode guide too. I feel a certain kinship with the actor as I grew up watching his dad who is a weatherman on the local ABC affiliate in Philadelphia.
The Bones Official Episode Guide is scheduled to come out this fall. I’ll be putting up more information about the book on my site when we get closer to the release.
